The NPI USA Mill, located in Port Angeles Washington, is a 100% subsidiary of the Nippon Paper Group. The mill, originally known as the Washington Pulp and Paper Co., was built in 1920. During our 95 year history of continuous operation, the mill has been owned and operated by several owners including Washington Pulp and Paper, Crown Zellerbach, James River and Daishowa Paper.
The NPI USA Mill is an integrated facility with complete functionality including Senior Management, Accounting, Human Resources, and Sales and Marketing. In addition the mill has the operational groups necessary to run the mill such as Production, Maintenance, Purchasing, Technical and IT.
Nippon Paper Group has other holdings in North America including interests in the NORPAC Paper Mill in Longview, Washington as well as the Peace River and Cariboo Pulp Mills in Canada.
